RE: Parole Review
Offender: Ricky Carter
State ID:
Placed in parole review on 07/07/09

Dear Angela McCown, Director of Victim Services Division

I do not know Ricky Carter, nor did I know any of the victims. I did however see the story on the news only 3 minutes ago and was so touched by this story that I immediately stopped everything to send this e-mail.
I feel Mr. Carter should spend his entire sentence in prison where he belongs. Drunk driving is one of the most selfish acts a human can do. I believe it's one thing to hurt yourself or put yourself endanger by drinking and driving, but he robbed those young ladies and their families. The victims will never get married, never have children, grandchildren or even get to grow old.
Things Mr. Carter still has a chance to do. As a mother, I believe if you parole this inmate early you will be endangering others and justice will not have been served unless his ENTIRE sentence is spent behind bars.
Please remember when reviewing his case how many people were affected by his selfless act, those who knew the victims and people like me that were touched afterwards by only a news story.  Thank you for your time.
