Dear Ms. McCown:

I recently saw the news reports about another pending parole hearing for Rickey Carter.  His selfish and reckless behavior caused a lifetime of hell for the families of the four girls he killed.  His twenty-year sentence was a relative slap on the wrist, and the thought of his being released even one day short of the full twenty years sickens me.   Even if he serves his full sentence, he will eventually get his life back; those four girls and their families never will.

In the interests of justice, public safety, and easing the emotional burden on the families of the victims, I ask that the Board deny his request for parole.  I also ask that the Board please consider imposing the maximum set-off before any future parole reviews.

Thank you for your work on behalf of all victims and their families.

Respectfully,
